Winter Conconi Test





































Ok, here are my results. Looks like my critical power is around 315 watts (Fig 2). My LT seems to be around 172 bpm and the power at LT about 277 watts (Fig 2). I averaged 314 watts for 3 min 30 sec during the critical power test (Fig 1). I'll check back with this test maybe after Johnny Cake Lane training series, about 2 months. The Cat4 group also plans to do an outdoor test at the office campus near the end of February. It will be a 3 lap TT with a possible extension to complete a 20 test as suggested by H. Allen and A. Coggan.

Any tips on figuring LT without using a power meter?

Sure, you can do it with speed. If you can measure speed on the trainer just use that instead of watts. Increase by 1 mph every minute until you cannot hold speed for 15 sec. Plot average bpm vs average speed.
If your trainer has been calibrated to reflect a power value for a given speed/resistance (published by the company) you could estimate your power at LT and critical power.
